Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a resume, a CV and a biodata?+
A resume is one or two pages aimed at a particular job, leading with what you did and what came of it. A CV is the full academic record, leading with education and then appointments, publications, conferences, teaching, grants and referees; it is as long as it needs to be. A biodata is the form asked for in Nepal, India and nearby: personal particulars first (date of birth, nationality, religion, languages, address), then qualifications, family details and a declaration you sign. Choose one at the top and the whole document is laid out that way.
Can it make a marriage biodata?+
Yes. Switch the biodata to Marriage and it is headed Marriage Biodata and asks for the things those proposals include: place of birth, height, weight, complexion, diet, caste and annual income, alongside the family details. A job biodata leaves those out and asks for your present salary instead.
Can I add a photograph?+
On a biodata, yes: it goes in the top right corner where these forms carry it, and the text keeps clear of it. Resumes and CVs are left without one, which is what employers in most countries expect and what applicant tracking systems handle best.
Will I lose what I typed if I switch document?+
No. Your name, contact details, education and experience carry across, and only the sections that belong to the new document appear. The only time the form is replaced is when it still holds the sample content.
Is the resume ATS-friendly?+
Yes. Applicant tracking systems read text, top to bottom. Every template is a single column of real, selectable text with standard section names (Summary, Experience, Education, Skills), no tables, no text in images, and no graphics in the way. The PDF also carries your name as its title and author.
Is this a LaTeX resume builder?+
It gives you the look without LaTeX. Running a TeX engine in the browser means downloading tens of megabytes, so the layout is done by a small engine instead. The Classic template follows the familiar LaTeX resume style: serif type, a centred header and ruled section headings.
Where is my information stored?+
Only in this browser, saved as you type, so it is there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded. To keep it safe or move it to another device, use "Save as file" and open that file later.
How long should my resume be?+
One page for most people with under ten years of experience, two at most for longer careers. If yours spills onto a second page, try the Compact template, trim older roles to one or two points, and cut the summary to two sentences.
Can I write it in Hindi, Nepali or another script?+
Not yet. The resume fonts cover English and Latin-alphabet languages with accents (French, German, Spanish and more). Characters they cannot draw are left out, and the tool tells you which ones.
Can I add sections like certifications or languages?+
Yes. Use "More sections" to add any titled list: certifications, languages, awards, volunteering or publications.
