Make a salary slip

Basic, allowances, deductions and the net pay, on one clean page.

A payslip has to show how the net pay was arrived at: what was earned, what was taken off, and what is left. This lays it out the way a payslip is laid out, with earnings and deductions side by side, the employee name, number and tax number above them, the days paid for, and the net figure in a band of its own with the amount in words underneath. One button fills in the deductions your country actually uses: SSF, provident fund, CIT and tax at source in Nepal, provident fund, professional tax and TDS in India, National Insurance and PAYE in the UK.

How to make a salary slip

  1. 1

    Choose Salary slip

It sits under People. The table becomes earnings and deductions, and the total reads Net pay.

  2. 2

    Fill in the two tables

One button adds the usual lines for your country, then you put the amounts against the ones that apply. Anything left at zero is not printed.

  3. 3

    Add the employee details

Name, employee number, their own PAN or tax number, designation, department, the month and the days paid for. Then download the PDF for that person.

Why payslips should never be uploaded

A payslip carries a name, an employer, a salary and often a bank account. Building it on your own machine keeps the most sensitive list in any small business off other people servers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I show a deduction?+

In its own table. Earnings go on the left, deductions on the right, and the net pay is the difference, printed in a band of its own and written out in words underneath. A line you leave at zero is left off the printed slip.

Is there any tax on a payslip?+

Not a sales tax. This document never picks up VAT or GST, whichever country format you choose. Income tax withheld from the salary is a deduction line like any other, called TDS in Nepal and India and PAYE in the UK.

Can I do a whole team at once?+

Not in one pass. Make one slip per person, which takes a minute each once your business details are remembered, then merge them into one PDF if you want a single file.

Is salary data uploaded?+

No, and it matters: pay is confidential. Everything is generated in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
