Make a small business invoice
Mixed tax rates, discounts and running numbering, worked out for you.
Real invoices are rarely one rate and one line. A shop bill mixes taxed and untaxed goods, a service bill has a discount, and prices are sometimes quoted including tax and sometimes not. This handles all of that: a rate per line, discounts, a choice of tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing, and a summary showing what was charged at each rate, which is what your bookkeeper wants to see.
How to make a small business invoice
- 1
Enter your business once
Name, address and tax number are remembered on this device, along with the next invoice number.
- 2
Add the lines with their own rates
Set a tax rate per line and a discount where one applies. The summary groups the tax by rate automatically.
- 3
Check the totals and download
The amount in words is filled in, rounding follows the country convention, and the PDF is ready to send or print.
Why the rate-wise summary earns its place
At the end of the quarter, somebody has to total the tax by rate. An invoice that already shows it saves that work, and it is the first thing an auditor looks for.
The rest of the paperwork
Quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes and receipts come from the same details.
Frequently asked questions
Can prices include tax?+
Yes. Choose whether your prices are entered with or without tax and the breakdown is calculated the right way round, which is the usual source of small errors.
How are discounts handled?+
Per line, on the whole bill as a percentage or a fixed amount, or both. Either way they come off before tax, so the tax is worked out on the discounted amount as it should be.
Does it keep a record of my invoices?+
It remembers your business details and the next number, in your browser. The invoices themselves are the PDFs you save, so keep them somewhere you back up.
Is my data uploaded?+
No. Nothing about your business or your customers leaves your device.
